The philosophy was that opamps don't have a natural sound. By using only discrete circuits the result is wide bandwidth and low negative feedback, essential for the smooth clear, natural sound. It is a class A build pre amplifier with a great natural sound, wide and detailed stereo image.It represent the best in solid state preamp design. Its sound is natural, transparent with an outstanding stage. The sound stage is wide and deep and stable. I am particularly fond of its headphone amplifier when driving the Sennheiser HD-600. It spread the sound stage in front of you instead of in your head.The all discrete class A headphone amplifier is better than many dedicated one on the market today.
